 Insert Tab -

Insert Tab is used to insert Table, Picture, Clipart, Shapes, Smart Art, Charts, Links and Text in MS Excel. That is, through Insert, we can insert and use tables, pictures, text, and charts in our Ms excel file as per our requirement.

We can access Insert Tab by pressing Alt+N button of Shortcut, it is available in Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Powerpoint, Ms Access of Microsoft Office Package. Through Insert tab, we can represent our data very well through Graphical, Chart and Table.

Insert Tab in Ms Excel is mainly divided into 5 parts -

1.     Table Group

2.     Illustrations Group

3.     Charts Group

4.     Links Group

5.     Text Group

Table Group

There are two options in this group - Pivot Table and Insert Table. By this we can create table in Microsoft Excel.

Pivot Table

Pivot Table is a powerful tool through which we can easily summarize, analyze and calculate data in Microsoft Excel. Pivot tables are used in MS Excel to handle large databases.

To create Pivot Table, we have to follow this tape as follows –

Insert Tab → Table Group → Pivot Table.

Ø First create a database table in Microsoft Excel.

Ø Now select the database table

Ø Go to Insert Tab and select Pivot Table option.

Ø The Pivot Table dialog box will be displayed.

Ø In which we now have to select the range of our table.

Ø And now finally click on the ok button.

Ø  In this way you can prepare Pivot table in ms excel.

Create Table

To create a table in Microsoft Excel, the option of table is available under the Insert Tab, through which we can only create. To create a table in MS Excel, we have to follow the following steps &

Ø Will select those Row and Column which have to covert in the table.

Ø Now click on Table option from Insert Tab, Create Table dialog box opens. Will click on the Ok button in this dialog box.

Illustrations Group

To make the sheet creative and attractive in MS Excel, graphics representation is done with the help of Illustrations group.

Picture

With the help of this option, we can insert picture or image in MS Excel.

After following these steps, the Insert Picture Dialog Box opens. In which we go to the location of the picture and select the picture and click on the insert button.

Clipart

This option is used to insert the already available clipart in MS Excel.

Insert Tab → Illustrations Group → Clipart

Clip Art task pane opens after following these steps. In this we click on any one clip art and insert the clip art.

Shapes

You can create a drawing by inserting multiple shapes in MS Excel.

Smart Art

With the help of this option, we can insert the already made smart art design.

Charts Group

The chart option is used to represent data graphically in MS Excel.

Links Group

Hyperlink

Linking data with any other data in MS Excel is called Hyperlink.

Text Group

Text Box

Text Box can be inserted in MS Excel with the help of this option.

Insert Tab → Text Group → Text Bo

Header & Footer

This option is used to display the Header & Footer in MS Excel (to display information related to the sheet in the top and bottom margin area of the sheet).

Word Art

MS Excel has pre-made text designs called WordArt.

Insert Tab → Text Group → WordArt

Signature Line

In MS Excel, we can insert Signature Line as per our requirement.

Object

In MS Excel, we can insert the data of any other application in object form. For example - data of MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Paint and other software can be inserted in Excel sheet.

Symbol

Various types of symbols are available in MS Excel, in which we can insert symbols related to all types of fonts in the sheet.

  Computer Network Topologies A Network Topology is the arrangement with which computer systems or network devices are connected to each other. Topologies may define both physical and logical aspect of the network. Both logical and physical topologies could be same or different in a same network.
